The gamer 987654321 is a user on Encyclopedia SpongeBobia. He has used multiple accounts on the wiki, most of which are blocked. His sockpuppets are: AGenericContributor, AGenericVandal, Jiunaughteneditedthis (not blocked yet, only used on a couple of days in 2017 and never again), The gamer 987654321's bot (not blocked; authorised for use), and another sockpuppet which he cannot remember the name of, that he used once in chat on 1st July 2017.

The user is known to regret his choice of username. Similarly, he hated the common shortening of his name to "gamer." He acknowledges that this is entirely his fault, however.

History on ESB

2016 and 2017

The gamer 987654321 made the worst mistake of his life on 22nd June 2016. Many of these were relatively low-effort comments, however there was some main and board thread namespace editing mixed in there too. He had managed to accrue 500 edits by the first day of 2017.

In December 2016 and January 2017, he became noted for his rude comments, and he received his first two warnings. A failed chat moderator request later, and the perception has sunk into many people's minds that "gamer" was a rude user. This would never be shaken off.

On 4^th May 2017, he received his first of many blocks, as a direct result of the many rude comments he must have been making over the preceding period. Later the same month, on 27^th May 2017, he would be blocked again, for a week as before, this time for "swearing, personal attacks, breaking rules on chat when no mods were around." Less than a week after the last block expired, he would be blocked again, this time for a month, for "continuing rude comments, and general rude behaviour toward users." By this time he recalls hating the website to no end (as shown through this thread), and wanting to get away from it as soon as possible. This thread infers that he was thankful to be blocked.

On 13^th July 2017, Icanhascookie accused him of being a sockpuppet.

A week later, he declared that if he edited again, he wished to be blocked. On 31^st July, he was eventually blocked by TheOneFootTallBrickWall. However, he requested access to his talk page during the infinite block , however this was not given by the godforsaken admin who decided to block him.

Having thoroughly soiled his previous account, he moved onto AGenericContributor as his primary account. He had been using this since 23^rd March 2017 to do productive edits on. Praise was even left on the account's talk page! In the month of august, however, this was the only output for The gamer 987654321's side to wreak havoc on the wiki. This presumably led to suspicions on sockpuppetry, and ultimately an IP check from SpongeBot678 (or possibly TheOneFootTallBrickWall), confirming that both accounts had indeed used the same IP address.

Having managed to get infinitely blocked on two separate accounts, even when using a VPN, he generally saw it as time to throw in the towel. He only recalls making one sockpuppet, Jiunaughteneditedthis, on 26^th October 2017, when he must have had a real urge to edit. Other than that, the wiki gradually faded out of the forefront of his mind.

2018 and 2019

Sometime in 2018, he recalls begging Koolkitty108 to be unblocked. This was seemingly ignored. Some attention was garnered from Golfpecks256, who left a message on the user's Community Central message wall asking if he wanted to be unblocked. It later emerged that the user's unblocking had indeed been noticed and discussed by the administrators, but it has been denied. A few months later, The gamer 987654321 went begging to Figmeister instead. This time, however, a block review was indeed created by the aforementioned user, and it passed.

The user was never as active as he was previously, with a handful of main namespace edits being made a week at the tail end of 2018, but nothing substantial, particularly on the social side of the wiki, although he did first make 100 edits in a day in 2019. The handful of interactions with other users that took place merely reaffirmed any pre-existing perception of the user being rude, possibly due to the possibly incorrect assumption that a majority of the users would still remember him as rude. Regardless, it garnered no message wall messages. The user's activity gradually tapered off throughout 2019, mainly due to no longer having enough of a connection with the wiki's social side, not being willing to learn the procedures for formatting or how the ESB convention worked, and due to his mind being preoccupied by other things, not least because it had been 2 years since he had last taken an interest in SpongeBob at that point. Activity after March 2019 was extremely sporadic and infrequent.
